In early September, the organisers of Best of Britannia contacted me and invited TROVE to exhibit at a very unique show in London. The BoB event brings together some of the best British made brands to a beautiful location and celebrates the very best of British workmanship, innovation and food. With only 3 weeks notice I had to create an exhibition display for TROVE. Some of you may know that I am an avid watcher of Game of Thrones and one of the most impressive scenes in the last season was of 'The Wall'. Earlier in the year I had already posted an image of TROVEs stacked as a Throne, so why not extend the theme to building a wall?

Here is a video and some photos of Richard's CNC machine and his factory.

After the foil printing was done on the Heidelberg foil press my next visit to Identity Print was to film them cutting out the individual card inserts on a Heidelberg Cylinder cutting machine. After a 60 minute 'make-ready', where the knife is loaded into the machine and adjusted very carefully to get the perfect cut (which incidentally worked out well for me because I had forgot to charge the GoPro beforehand), the actual cutting process was super-quick and finished in just 15 minutes. The video and photos below shows the machine in action and final cutting on a paper guillotine.

Kickstarter Funding Target Reached
It's been a while since I have had the chance to post on our Journal, the Kickstarter campaign has been going so well and it's taken up most of my time to respond to backers and keep our social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) up to date. The brilliant news is that a few days ago we got to our target funding! Then we set up some stretch goals, the first of which has already been unlocked! Its been amazing to see the that the TROVE has been seen by nearly 10,000 people worldwide. We will be continuing our push on the campaign until the very end of the Kickstarter funding period, so please keep sharing TROVE with your friends. Please see our update pages on Kickstarter for more details.

Since we launched TROVE on Kickstarter just less than two weeks ago I have been connecting and reconnecting with friends and family all over the world trying to share this fantastic little card case that we created. It has been amazing to receive messages from people who have been out of touch for so long, and yet have their total support and encouragement for what we're doing. Thank you to all of you who hit up those like and share links on Facebook, for spreading the word and for backing us!

Over the last week we have received an overwhelming amount of support and well wishes from our family and friends (new and old), as a factory we are so grateful for everyone's likes on Facebook and follows on Twitter. At the same time we have had many people who want to support us but were unsure about what Kickstarter is all about. In response to this I have decided to make this entry to address some of the concerns of our friends who have not heard of Kickstarter before.

We launched our TROVE Kickstarter project on 12th July 2014, and despite it being a World Cup finals weekend (Germany won btw) the campaign has taken on a lot of interest and backers. In only a few days we went from zero to nearly 40% backing, its been great to see the support and to read all the comments and questions from Kickstarter and on our Facebook page. We still have some time to go before Read More

Making our own product has been a big step for everyone involved as we know the complexity involved in taking a nice idea into full production. For this reason we've held our cards close to our chest and spent over a year refining the design and details to ensure that when we are ready to launch the product is the best it can be. It's been tough long wait but it's definitely worth it.
