This concept came from reminiscing about playing cards back in high school, blending that nostalgia with my surreal character style. Each card represents a different personality, inspired by how my friends were at the time, almost like each one captures a role they played. It’s meant to feel playful but also personal, turning something familiar into a visual story about identity, memory, and growing up. In a way, it’s a small homage to childhood and the moments that shaped who we became.

About Fluffycrust

I’m Cristian Mera, an Ecuadorian-born artist and designer based in Calgary.
Growing up between cultures shaped the way I see colour, story, and emotion. My creative path started with illustration, then moved naturally into graphic design, web design, branding, and eventually digital art, album covers, and more experimental visuals.

I work with bold shapes, layered textures, and instinctive symbolism. Most of my ideas come from music, daily life, and creators and shows that stick with me. I love creating pieces that feel personal and expressive, yet polished and intentional.

I take on commissions for album art, branding, posters, digital campaigns, and collaborative creative projects. Whatever the medium, I focus on making work that reflects lived experience and connects with people.
